The Association des professionnels de l’édition musicale (APEM) advocates with all decision makers (political, administrative or other) on issues of interest for its members. Our association is actively involved in the creation of a viable ecosystem for our music. Fair compensation for publishers, and therefore for the songwriters and the composers they represent, is fundamental to us, as are the development of our culture and the respect of everyone’s rights. Support programs for music publishing are also at the forefront of our concerns.
We are actively concerned about the revision of the Canadian Copyright Act, the Broadcasting Act and CRTC regulation, collective rights management, the certification of tariffs by the Copyright Board, the artificial intelligence, and many other issues. APEM also makes sure to be represented and visible in the most strategic forums (see the French page for the full list).
